Webcam Test
Check your webcam in the browser — live preview, resolution and frame rate, with camera switching and snapshots.
See whether your webcam works without installing anything. Allow camera access and you get a live preview plus the resolution and frame rate the browser reports. You can also switch between connected cameras, swap front and rear cameras on a phone, mirror the view and save a snapshot.
🔒 The video is not sent to any server — the preview plays only in this browser tab, and a snapshot is saved straight to your device's downloads.

Free webcam test that runs in your browser — no download or install. Allow camera access and you'll see a live preview with the resolution and frame rate (FPS) the browser reports, so you can make sure the camera works before a video call, online class or stream. Switch between connected cameras, swap front and rear cameras on a phone, mirror the view and save a snapshot to check image quality. If the camera can't start, the page tells you why: access blocked, no camera found, or the camera busy in another app. The video is never sent to a server; snapshots are saved only to your own device.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do I test my webcam online?
A. Press Start and allow camera access. If a live picture appears with a resolution such as 1280×720 and a frame rate, your webcam is working. No software or sign-up is needed.
Q. Why isn't my webcam showing a picture?
A. The page tells you which of three cases applies: access is blocked (allow it in the address bar or in Windows/macOS privacy settings), no camera was found (check the cable and device settings), or another app such as Zoom or Teams is already using the camera (close it and try again).
Q. Is the FPS shown here my real frame rate?
A. It's the value the browser reports for the camera stream, often 30. In low light or when the computer is busy, the actual picture can be choppier than that number.
Q. Is my webcam video recorded or uploaded?
A. No. The preview plays only in your browser tab and is not sent to any server. A snapshot is saved only when you press Snapshot, straight to your downloads folder.
