Microphone Test
Check that your mic picks up sound — volume meter, live waveform and pitch, right in your browser.
Check whether your microphone is picking up sound, with nothing to install. Allow mic access, then speak or tap lightly near the mic: the input level, live waveform and detected note react right away. If you have more than one mic, pick one from the list to see which one is actually hearing you.
🔒 Sound is analyzed live in this browser only — nothing is recorded, saved or sent to a server.

Giggleus Microphone Test checks in a few seconds whether your mic is picking up sound, right in the browser with nothing to install. Allow mic access, then speak or tap near the mic: the input level in dBFS, a live waveform and the detected note react in real time. If several mics are connected, choose one from the list to see which device is actually hearing you — useful before a video call, recording or stream, or when a new headset stays silent. If access fails, the page tells you whether permission is blocked, no mic was found or another app is using it. Sound is analyzed in your browser only and is never recorded, saved or uploaded.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do I test my microphone online?
A. Press Start, allow mic access and speak or tap near the mic. If the input level and waveform move, the mic is picking up sound; if you have several mics, switch between them in the list.
Q. What does the dB number on the meter mean?
A. It is the input level in dBFS, where 0 is the loudest signal the input can record, so speech shows as a negative number. It is not the loudness of the room in dB SPL, and it changes with your system's mic volume.
Q. Why isn't my microphone working in the test?
A. The page shows the reason: access is blocked in the browser or in Windows or macOS privacy settings, no mic was found, or another app such as Zoom or Discord is holding it. The test also needs HTTPS and an up-to-date browser.
Q. Is my voice recorded?
A. No. Sound is analyzed live in your browser only and is never recorded, saved or sent to a server.
