Daily Word Puzzle gives you six tries to find one hidden five-letter English word. Every guess has to be a word from the game's list of about 2,500 accepted words, and after each one the tiles turn green (right letter, right spot), yellow (in the word, wrong spot) or gray (not in the word). If you type a letter twice but the answer has it only once, just one of them lights up — worth remembering for words like SPEED or LLAMA.
The word changes at midnight on your device's clock, so everyone playing on the same date gets the same word, and the puzzle number counts up from January 1, 2025. Type on the on-screen QWERTY keys or your own keyboard; even with a Cyrillic or Arabic layout, or a Japanese, Chinese or Korean input method switched on, the physical key positions are read as English letters. Games played, win rate, streaks and your guess distribution are saved in your browser.
Want more than one word a day? 4 Boards mode sends each guess to four grids at once: solve all four words within nine guesses, and each board locks the moment you crack it. When you finish, share an emoji grid that shows your path without giving away the answer, or send a challenge link so friends can try to beat your score.
Daily Word Puzzle is an independent Giggleus game built on the familiar five-letter guessing format. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by The New York Times or its Wordle game, and our daily word and puzzle numbers are different from theirs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is this the official Wordle?
A. No. Daily Word Puzzle is Giggleus' own five-letter word game and has no connection to The New York Times. The daily word, puzzle number and word list are our own, so your answer won't match the NYT puzzle.
Q. When does the new word come out?
A. At midnight on your device's clock. Everyone playing on the same calendar date solves the same word, and unfinished progress for that day is kept in your browser.
Q. Can I play if my keyboard is not set to English?
A. Yes. Tap the on-screen QWERTY keys, or type on a physical keyboard: when a Cyrillic, Arabic or CJK layout is active, the game reads the key positions as A–Z. The answers and guesses are always English words.
Q. How does the 4 Boards mode work?
A. Each word you enter is played on four boards at the same time, and each board colors its own tiles. Solve all four hidden words within nine guesses to win. The four words change every day, and you can share your result or challenge a friend.
