Country Shape
Name the daily country from its silhouette in 6 guesses — direction and proximity hints included.
How to play
- Study the black silhouette (the country's outline), start typing a country name and pick it from the list.
- Wrong guess? An arrow points toward the answer (8 directions, e.g. ↗️ northeast) and a proximity % shows how close you are.
- You get 6 guesses. A new puzzle drops at midnight your local time, and everyone gets the same country on the same date.

Country Shape is a daily geography puzzle: you see one country's silhouette, solid black with no map around it, and have 6 guesses to name it. Type a country name and pick it from the list. After every miss you get an arrow pointing toward the answer (one of 8 directions) and a proximity percentage based on how far apart the two countries sit on a world map, so each guess narrows the search.
The answer comes from a pool of 164 countries. Overseas territories and micro-states such as Malta or the Maldives are left out because their outlines shrink to a few dots. A new puzzle appears at midnight on your device's clock, and everyone playing on the same date gets the same country, which makes shared scores easy to compare. Your games played, win rate and streaks are saved in your browser.
Tip: open with a large country in the middle of a continent, such as Kazakhstan or Brazil, to get a useful first arrow, then follow it. A long, thin outline points to places like Chile or Norway; scattered islands suggest Indonesia, the Philippines or Japan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do the arrow and proximity hints work?
A. The arrow points from the country you guessed toward the answer, in one of 8 directions. The percentage reflects the distance between the two countries' centres on a world map: the higher it is, the closer you are, and a correct guess shows 100%.
Q. Which countries can come up?
A. Any of the 164 countries in the pool. Overseas territories and very small states such as Malta, the Maldives or Singapore are excluded because their silhouettes are too small to recognise.
Q. When does a new puzzle start?
A. At midnight on your device's clock. Everyone playing on the same date gets the same country, so you can compare results with friends.
Q. Can the same country appear again?
A. Yes. Each day's country is drawn at random from the whole pool, so repeats can happen.
