Daily Flag Puzzle is a free flag guessing game with one new flag a day. The flag is cut into a 2×3 grid of six tiles and only one tile shows at the start, often just a stripe of color or the corner of an emblem. Type a country, pick it from the list, and see right away whether you got it. Every wrong guess uncovers one more tile, so by your sixth and final guess the whole flag is visible. There are no distance or direction hints: colors, stripes and symbols are the only clues.

The answer pool holds 254 countries and territories, from Brazil and Japan to Greenland and Hong Kong. The search box accepts the country name in your language or in English and ignores accents. A few territories fly exactly the same flag as their home country (Saint Martin uses the French tricolor, Bouvet Island and Svalbard the Norwegian cross, Heard Island the Australian flag), so in those cases the home country counts as the answer.

Look-alike flags are where most streaks end. Chad and Romania share almost identical blue-yellow-red vertical stripes; Indonesia and Monaco are both red over white and differ only in proportions; Poland is the same two colors flipped. Italy and Mexico are both green-white-red vertical, but Mexico carries an eagle in the center, while Ireland is green-white-orange and Côte d'Ivoire is that order reversed.

The flag changes at midnight on your device's clock, and everyone on the same date plays the same flag. Games played, win rate, current streak and best streak are saved in your browser. Results share as a spoiler-free emoji row (green for the hit, red for misses) with a challenge link, so friends can try to beat your number of guesses.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q. How does the daily flag guessing game work?

    A. You get 6 guesses to name the country behind a flag split into 6 tiles. Only one tile is visible at first, and each wrong guess reveals one more, so the full flag shows by the last guess.

  • Q. When does a new flag come out?

    A. At midnight on your device's clock. Everyone playing on the same date gets the same flag, picked from 254 countries and territories.

  • Q. Can I type the country name in English?

    A. Yes. The search matches both the localized name and the English name, and accents don't matter. Territories that use the exact same flag as their home country, such as Saint Martin with France, count as that country.

  • Q. Which flags are easiest to mix up?

    A. Chad and Romania are nearly identical, Indonesia and Monaco differ only in proportions, and Poland is the same red and white upside down. Italy and Mexico share green-white-red, but Mexico has an eagle in the middle.
