Stop the Bar
A one-button timing game: stop the sweeping marker in a green zone that shrinks every round. How many rounds can you clear?
How to play
- Press Start. A white marker sweeps left and right along the track.
- Click or tap STOP (or press Space) while the marker is inside the green zone.
- Each clear moves the zone, makes it narrower and speeds up the marker. One miss ends the run.

Stop the Bar is a one-button timing game. A white marker sweeps back and forth along a track, and you have to stop it while it is inside the green zone: click or tap the STOP button, or press the Space bar on a keyboard. Every stop that lands inside the zone clears a round. The next round moves the zone to a random spot, makes it narrower and sends the marker faster. One stop outside the zone ends the run, and your score is the number of rounds you cleared.
The difficulty climbs quickly. In round 1 the green zone covers about a third of the track (32%), and the marker crosses the whole track in roughly 0.8 seconds. Each cleared round trims the zone by 15%, so by round 8 it is less than a tenth of the track, and from round 13 it stays at its 5% minimum while the marker keeps accelerating. Runs are graded D (0–2 rounds), C (3–5), B (6–9), A (10–14) and S (15 or more).
Reacting the moment the marker touches the zone works early on, but at higher speeds it is already too late. Watch the zone rather than the marker, learn the rhythm of the sweep and press a fraction of a second early. Your best run goes to the ranking (global or your country; all-time, daily or weekly), and a challenge link lets a friend try to beat your round count.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do you play Stop the Bar?
A. Press Start, then stop the sweeping marker while it is inside the green zone by clicking or tapping the STOP button, or by pressing Space on a keyboard. The zone moves to a random spot every round.
Q. How does Stop the Bar get harder?
A. Each cleared round shrinks the green zone by 15% and speeds up the marker. The zone starts at 32% of the track and bottoms out at 5% from round 13, and a single miss ends the run.
Q. How are the score and grade decided?
A. Your score is the number of rounds you clear. Grades are D for 0–2 rounds, C for 3–5, B for 6–9, A for 10–14 and S for 15 or more, and your best run is posted to the ranking.
Q. Any tips for reaching higher rounds?
A. Press slightly early. At high speeds, reacting once the marker is already in the zone is too late, so keep your eyes on the zone and time the press to the rhythm of the sweep.
