Fruit Merge

Two matching fruits touch and merge into a bigger one — 11 stages from cherry to giant watermelon in a free physics puzzle.

Rules

  • Move the drop guide with your finger, mouse, or arrow keys, then tap, click, or press space to drop the fruit.
  • Two identical fruits that touch merge into the next bigger fruit and earn points — bigger merges score much more.
  • Merge two watermelons to create the giant watermelon; merge two giants and both vanish for a huge bonus.
  • If any fruit stays above the dashed danger line for 2 seconds, the game is over.

Fruit Merge is a drop-and-merge physics puzzle. Fruits fall into a glass jar, and whenever two identical fruits touch, they combine into the next fruit up the chain: cherry → strawberry → grape → tangerine → apple → pear → peach → pineapple → melon → watermelon → giant watermelon, 11 stages in all. Only the five smallest (cherry to apple) are handed to you at random, so everything bigger has to be built by merging, and the fruit after the current one is always shown at the top. If any fruit that has already landed pokes above the dashed line at the top of the jar for 2 seconds in a row, the game ends — the line flashes red while that timer is running.

Every merge scores more the bigger the new fruit is: a strawberry is worth 40 points, an apple 250, a watermelon 1,000 and a giant watermelon 1,210. Merge two giant watermelons and both disappear for a 2,500-point bonus, which also frees up half the jar. Merges can chain: when a new fruit lands next to its twin it merges again straight away, so a single drop can set off several merges in a row. Heavy fruits push lighter ones aside, so it usually pays to keep the big pieces low and against one wall, line up the sizes next to each other, and avoid burying a small fruit under large ones where it can never meet its match.

The genre took off with Suika Game, a ¥240 Nintendo Switch title from the Japanese company Aladdin X that became a worldwide hit in 2023 after streamers picked it up. Fruit Merge is an unofficial free browser game in the same style; it is not affiliated with Aladdin X. When the game ends you can post your score to the ranking or send a challenge link so a friend can try to beat it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q. When is it game over?

    A. When any fruit that has already landed stays above the dashed line for 2 seconds in a row. The line flashes red while that countdown runs, so you still have a moment to merge your way out.

  • Q. How are points scored?

    A. Each merge scores based on the fruit it creates — 40 points for a strawberry up to 1,210 for a giant watermelon. Merging two giant watermelons removes both and adds a 2,500-point bonus.

  • Q. Is this the official Suika Game?

    A. No. Suika Game is a Nintendo Switch game by Aladdin X. Fruit Merge is an unofficial free browser game with similar merge-and-drop rules and is not affiliated with Aladdin X.

  • Q. How do I control it on phone and PC?

    A. Drag across the jar to aim and lift your finger to drop. With a mouse, move to aim and click to drop; on a keyboard, use ←/→ or A/D to aim and Space or ↓ to drop. There is a half-second pause between drops.
