GIGGLEUS PITCH

Perfect Pitch Test

How it works

  • 🎧 Put on headphones — a single note plays each round.
  • 🎹 Tap the note name you think you heard (octave doesn't matter).
  • 🎵 15 rounds, no reference tone. Naming notes cold is what absolute pitch really is.

Play a test tone and set a comfortable volume first.

Correct answers out of 15

⚠️ Just-for-fun test — results depend on your device and volume, not a musical certification.

A free perfect pitch test. Each of the 15 rounds plays one pure sine tone, picked at random between C3 and B5, with no reference note. You name it from 12 buttons (C, C#, D … B); the octave doesn't count, but a semitone off is wrong. Random guessing averages about 1 correct out of 15, so even a few right answers mean something — and the global leaderboard turns it into a challenge.

A test tone (A4, 440 Hz) lets you set your volume first, and headphones help. Pair it with the tone-deaf, rhythm and hearing-age tests to see how your ear does across the board.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q. How does this perfect pitch test work?

    A. Each of the 15 rounds plays one pure sine tone between C3 and B5 with no reference note, and you pick its name from 12 buttons (C to B). The octave doesn't matter, and you can replay the tone before answering.

  • Q. What score suggests absolute pitch?

    A. 14–15 out of 15 is the top band. Random guessing averages about 1 out of 15, and only the exact note counts — a semitone off is marked wrong.

  • Q. How rare is absolute pitch?

    A. It is often estimated at around 1 in 10,000 people. It is reported more often in people who started music training in early childhood, and learning it fully as an adult is generally considered difficult.

  • Q. Is the result reliable?

    A. It's a just-for-fun test: device speakers and volume can affect results, and it is not a musical certification. Use the test tone and headphones for the clearest sound.
